Newark Airport (EWR)
(This is the closest airport, about 11-12 miles from Jersey City. You can easily get an Uber/Lyft from the airport to Jersey City. If you are staying in New Jersey including the room block hotels, this is the best airport to fly into.)

La Guardia Airport (LGA)
This airport, located in Queens, NY is about 13 miles from Jersey City. Not much further than EWR by mileage, but since you will be transiting through Manhattan to get to Jersey City, it will take longer and an Uber/Lyft definitely will cost more. However, if you will be staying in Manhattan, this is the best airport to fly into. (Note: you could also fly into JFK if you are staying in NYC, but LGA happens to be my personal preference as it is closer to Manhattan).

Car Rental
I usually do not recommend car rentals in the NYC/Jersey City area, unless you're planning to venture out to other areas outside of Jersey City and NYC. Parking is expensive (except at the wedding venue itself which is free), and in many areas it is hard to find parking. I recommend Uber/Lyft and public transportation (or Ferry between NY and NJ) to get around.
