a day to remember

Everyone who knows Steven knows about his love for LEGO sets. In February 2024, fate (and LEGO) brought us together. Steven was in the trash room of our 4th-floor apartment building when Jade walked in. Spotting the empty box for the Eiffel Tower LEGO set, Jade couldn’t resist making a comment. After a few moments of small talk, nerves got the better of her. She jokingly mentioned a “pretend fiancé” and made a quick exit. A few weeks later, the universe gave us a second chance. We ran into each other at the dog park, where hours of conversation and playtime with the pups felt effortless. Steven insisted on bringing Jade dinner the very next evening. He showed up with a plate of homemade buffalo chicken mac and cheese, and once again, we stayed up talking for hours. The next day, he brought flowers, the day after that, peanut M&M’s, and then ice cream. Little gestures that showed his warmth, romance, and dedication from the very start. What began with a LEGO box and a nervous fib quickly grew into a love filled with laughter, kindness, and endless thoughtfulness, the perfect foundation for the life we’re building together.
