Tucson holds a special place in our hearts because it’s the city where we met. We’re so excited to celebrate our wedding here with all of you! If you’re making a weekend out of the trip, here are some of our favorite things to see and do around town!
Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum

Part zoo, part botanical garden, and part natural history museum, this unique outdoor museum showcases the plants, wildlife, and landscapes of the Sonoran Desert. It’s one of Tucson’s most famous attractions and a great way to experience the desert up close. This is a 30 minute drive from Downtown Tucson.

A beautiful desert canyon located at the base of the Santa Catalina Mountains. Guests can hike scenic trails, walk along the canyon road, or take the tram for an easy and relaxing way to enjoy the views! This is a 35 minute drive from downtown Tucson.

San Xavier del Bac Mission

Known as the “White Dove of the Desert,” this historic Spanish mission is one of the most beautiful landmarks in Southern Arizona. It’s a stunning piece of Tucson history and a peaceful place to visit! This is about 20 minutes from Downtown Tucson.

Gates Pass is one of the most beautiful scenic overlooks in Tucson and a perfect place to catch an Arizona sunset. Just a short drive from downtown, it offers incredible panoramic views of the desert, mountains, and endless saguaro cacti. If you have time in the evening, it’s definitely worth the trip! This is a 20 minute drive from Downtown Tucson!

A popular Tucson paved walking trail with incredible desert views overlooking the city. Many locals hike this trail for sunrise or sunset, and it’s a great way to experience the desert landscape while getting a good workout in! This takes about an hour/hour and a half round trip and is only 10 minutes from Downtown Tucson!

El Charro Café Downtown

One of Tucson’s most famous and historic restaurants, serving incredible Sonoran-style Mexican food since 1922. If you’re looking for classic Tucson flavors and great margaritas, this is a must-visit! The downtown location is the original location! Get the carne seca and a prickly pear margarita!

Seis Kitchen

A local favorite for quick and delicious tacos inspired by the different regions of Mexico. Their tacos, bowls, and fresh salsas make it a great casual spot for lunch or dinner. The courtyard this is in is super cute! Take a walk across to the annex which has cute shops and is just a fun little area!

A great downtown spot known for its scratch-made dishes, craft cocktails, and cozy atmosphere. Located on 6th Avenue, it’s a perfect place for a relaxed dinner or drinks while exploring downtown Tucson. The menu focuses on fresh ingredients and elevated comfort food, making it a great option for a fun night out.

One of Tucson’s most popular brunch spots with delicious breakfast dishes, pastries, and coffee. They have the most delicious mimosas! Expect a wait on weekends, but it’s worth it!

Located in the Historic Hotel Congress! This is one of Lucia and Erik's favorite breakfast spots and it is located in downtown Tucson!

CORBETT'S

340 North 6th Avenue, Tucson, AZ 85705

A super fun outdoor beer garden and gathering spot in Tucson with food trucks, drinks, and games like pickleball and cornhole. With lots of open seating and a lively atmosphere, it’s a great place to hang out with friends, grab a drink, and enjoy the Tucson sunshine! This is walking distance from downtown Tucson!

American Eat Company

An indoor food hall with several local restaurants and vendors all under one roof. It’s a great spot if everyone in your group wants something different, from tacos and burgers to Asian dishes and desserts, with plenty of communal seating to hang out and enjoy the atmosphere.

El Güero Canelo Restaurant

If you want to try one of Tucson’s most famous local foods, the Sonoran hot dog, this is the place to go. A bacon-wrapped hot dog is served in a soft bolillo-style bun and topped with beans, onions, tomatoes, mayo, mustard, and jalapeño salsa. It’s a Tucson classic and a must-try while you’re visiting!

One of our absolute favorite taco spots in Tucson! If you’re looking for authentic, no-frills tacos packed with flavor, this is the place. Their chicharron tacos are a must, and it’s the perfect quick stop! We recommend to go during the day! Simple, delicious, and very Tucson!
