- A Baked Joint - Right near our current apartment in Mt. Vernon Triangle. They have delicious breakfast sandwiches and amazing pizza (starting at 5pm). Grab a cupcake to go!! - Tatte Bakery and Cafe (several locations and Maya's favorite!!) perfect for lunch - the best chicken salad sandwich. They have amazing pastries, coffee, salads, and sandwiches. - Filomena (need reservations) - Michael introduced Maya to Filomena shortly after they started dating - try the Chicken Parmesan (Michael's favorite!) and the Penne alla Vodka (Maya's favorite!) - Le Diplomate (Need a Reservation) - this is a DC institution! Amazing french food - try the cheeseburger and the warm shrimp salad - the bread is to die for! -Rumi's Kitchen - Local to MVT - the BEST mediterranean food and where Michael and Maya's parents met for the first time :) - Bantam King - the best Ramen (located in Chinatown)
- Arlington Cemetery - this is one of Michael's favorite places to bring out of town guests to walk around and see the changing of the guards. - Walk around the National Mall and hop around to some museums (our favorites - Natural History, Air and Space, African American History) - Walk around Logan Circle (where Maya used to live!) Explore the shops, wine bars, and yummy restaurants.
