We met the old-fashioned way—through online dating, LOL. Michelle had just moved to Scranton to begin her Dietetic Internship, and David was wrapping up his final year of medical school. What started as a simple search for friendship and someone to spend time with quickly turned into something more. But as the days turned into weeks and the weeks into months and eventually years, our friendship blossomed into something deeper. The more time we spent together, the more our hearts grew connected—and before long we couldn’t imagine life without the other.

Michelle and David took a trip out West to explore the stunning landscapes of the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. David had been planning to propose a few days into the trip, but Michelle, sensing something special might be coming, shared that she was feeling a bit nervous. Wanting to ease her mind and embrace the perfect moment, David decided to ask the big question earlier than planned. On the second day of their trip, they set out on what would be their longest and most challenging hike, aiming to reach a breathtaking canyon overlook. Despite warnings from park rangers about snow and bear activity, they were determined to make it to the top. After several hours of hiking, they finally arrived at the canyon. Michelle looked out at the view and said, "This is the most beautiful spot." Seizing the moment, David asked a nearby hiker to take their photo. As the camera clicked, he got down on one knee and said: "We made it all the way up this mountain, and I would not want to do it with anyone else. Will you marry me?" And of course Michelle said YES!!
