Question

What sort of COVID-19 safety measures and restrictions will be in place at the hotel and when I arrive?

Answer

The Jordan Hotel (or any public venue you may choose to stay at) will be adhering to the Maine CDC guidelines and require that all guests traveling from a non-exempt, low-risk, state show proof of a negative COVID-19 test from within 72 hours of their arrival OR sign a Certificate of Compliance stating that you have successfully completed a 14 day quarantine. Please see the link below for more information: https://www.maine.gov/covid19/restartingmaine/keepmainehealthy/faqs Upon arrival to the hotel, you must have a mask on, and you will be greeted outside the hotel by Frank Vorwald (Lauren's dad) who will be asking you to allow him to take your temperature on your forehead using an infrared thermometer and to sign a waiver stating that you have not experienced any symptoms of COVID or been around anybody known to have COVID in the last 14 days. These are requests only and not something we require. Masks must be worn at all times when outside your room or interacting with hotel staff.

Question

What sort of COVID-19 safety measures are in place for the wedding?

Answer

The ceremony is taking place outside (weather permitting), and chairs for the ceremony will be laid out in sets of 2, all spaced 6' apart from the other pairs. The reception and cocktail hour are mostly indoors but if the weather allows there will be some outdoor tables set up, along with games and potentially a fire, so people can move in and out. All tables for dinner will be set 6' apart and table seating will be based on people who see each other regularly and feel comfortable sitting next to. Please reach out if you have concerns about who you might share a table with. Dinner service will follow all CDC guidelines regarding single use items, servers will be masked, and all food will be served (no buffet style even during the cocktail hour). Bar service will be walk up, so masks are required while interacting with the bartender and social distancing while waiting in line. Masks will not be required on the dance floor but if you wish to wear one, please do.

Question

I have more questions about safety precautions at the wedding in regards to COVID-19, what do I do?

Answer

If you still have questions, please feel free to call Bud @ (207)991-2720, or reach out to Sunday River & the Jordan Hotel specifically. If you do not feel comfortable joining us for the wedding, we completely understand and ask that you kindly keep us in your hearts on that day. We are making every accommodation we can to ensure our guests are happy, healthy, and have a great time.

Question

Do we really have to ride a chairlift to the ceremony / reception?

Answer

Yes. Or a gondola which is completely enclosed if sitting in the open air isn't your thing.

Question

Where is the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony, reception, and cocktail hour will all take place at the North Peak Lodge, on top of the mountain.

Question

How do we get from the hotel to the ceremony?

Answer

A shuttle bus will take guests from the Jordan Hotel lobby, to the South Lodge where you will load up on the Chondola (Chair lift + Gondola) to the peak.

Question

What is the attire for the wedding?

Answer

This is an autumn wedding, on top of a mountain. Jackets and ties are not required. Business casual is a good way to picture it.
