Xcaret is a 5 Diamond Resort with advanced purification systems but we still recommend asking your doctor to prescribe you with an antibiotic that you can take as needed, just in case! Be sure to drink bottled water and avoid ingesting any tap water. All restaurants use filtered water for drinking and ice.

YES! Biodegradable sunscreen, sun block, and insect repellent are required for use at Xcaret Park, Xel Ha, and all natural pools with marine life! Does your brand say biodegradable on the label? If not, then it's probably not. Even if it is, it might not get past Xcaret or Xel Ha. The usual brands like Coppertone, Banana Boat, Panama Jack and No-AD are not biodegradable.
