Things To Do

Countdown not done but you already here? Here's some suggestions in the Chicago suburbs for things to do. Additionally, Chicago itself offers many more great choices. There are multiple train stations that will take you downtown.

Illinois Prairie Path

Illinois Prairie Path, Wheaton, IL

Great for going on walks and stretching your legs after a long car/plane trip. It spans approximately 61 miles in Cook, DuPage and Kane Counties. A former right-of-way for the old Chicago Aurora & Elgin electric railroad, it was the first U.S. rail-to-trail conversion in the nation in the 1960’s. West State Street

West State Street, Geneva, IL

Our first date was exploring downtown Geneva. There's great shops and unique restaurants close to the Comfort Inn hotel.

North Hale Street

North Hale Street, Wheaton, IL 60187

A favorite spot for restaurants and shopping. During the summer, the street is closed off for traffic and is filled tented dinning. Often you'll catch a live performance in the evenings or weekends. Our favorite restaurants: Moveable Feast + Company - A great place for healthy delicious food The Burger Social -Great (monster) burgers Altiro Latin Fusion -Our first date location. Delicious Latin inspired food.

Vargo's Dance

205 West State Street, Geneva, IL 60134

Dance classes on a wide range of styles are available for just $20 per person throughout the week. It has a relaxed environment with medium-sized classes (10-15 couples). Check out their class schedule at https://vargosdance.com/schedule/.

Two Brothers Tap House

30W315 Calumet Avenue West, Warrenville, IL 60555

Located in the heart of their brewing operations, the tap house serves as a showcase for Two Brothers’ wide range of craft beers, from flagship brews to seasonal specials and experimental batches available exclusively on-site. If we are lucky, in July they might have the "Atom Smasher" on tap which is an homage to the science happening next door at Fermilab. Apparently, they have substantial clientele of scientists and engineers...

Northcott Liquorette

40 West Chicago Avenue, Naperville, IL 60540

Modeled after the speakeasies of the Prohibition era, the Northcott Liquorette features absinthe fountains, liquor-infused teapot kettles, highly rated wine & rare whiskey acquisitions in a private, cocktail lounge setting. Consume without abandon & you too might find yourself hiding from the law. The place has a unassuming entrance right next to "Empire Burgers + Brew".

Woodfield Mall

5 Woodfield Mall, Schaumburg, IL 60173

The mall is the largest shopping mall in the state of Illinois, the second largest being Oakbrook Center in Oak Brook.

Mesón Sabika

1025 Aurora Avenue, Naperville, IL 60540

Spanish tapas specialist set in a historic mansion with a landscaped outdoor garden.

Vertical Endeavors–Glendale Heights

246 Windy Point Drive, Glendale Heights, IL 60139

Vertical Endeavors is an indoor rock climbing gym that cater to climbers of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced. These gyms offer a variety of climbing options including bouldering, top rope, and lead climbing.

The Morton Arboretum

4100 Illinois 53, Lisle, IL 60532

The Morton Arboretum is an internationally recognized tree-focused botanical garden and research center.

Topgolf

3211 Odyssey Court, Naperville, IL 60563

Topgolf is essentially a cooler version of a driving range. You hit microchipped golf balls at targets on an outfield from your own bay, and computers track how well you do. It's laid back—you can chill with friends, grab a bite, and have a drink while you're at it. It's less about being a golf pro and more about having a good time.
