Our first date

August 28, 2021

After several years of being single, Mallory’s friend, Jen, encouraged her to put herself back in the dating scene in an attempt to meet Mr. Right by taking a stab at a dating app, Bumble. Scott, on the other hand, was just looking to make new connections, nothing too serious. As Scott remembers it, he messaged Mallory on Bumble first. However, as the app went, it was intended for the woman to make the first move, and therefore, Mallory messaged Scott first - naturally. After a few days of back and forth conversation, they agreed to meet up at a restaurant, Zaragoza, in New Milford, CT. Little did the two know that their first date, which was all possible by a silly app, would be their LAST first date!

Our engagement

May 04, 2023

An amazing opportunity presented itself that offered an unbeatable trip to Oahu, Hawaii. Although Scott had traveled to the Hawaiian islands some years ago, Mallory had never been. Naturally, the six day, five night trip wouldn’t be long enough, especially after a 12+ hour trip., so they decided early on to extend the trip to include the island of Maui. Leading up to the trip, many would say to Mallory, “you’re going to get engaged in Hawaii.” Being quite modest, Mallory didn’t believe the comments. Starting the first day off in paradise the right way, and after traveling over 12hrs. the day before, Mallory & Scott decided to go for a morning walk to get some exercise. As they walked the shoreline to gawk at the unbelievably crystal clear, blue water, just as Mallory was telling Scott how picture perfect Oahu was, she turns around to find Scott down on one knee! In complete and utter shock, Mallory gladly, without hesitation, said YES! What a perfect way to spend an absolutely amazing vacation in paradise, as a newly engaged couple! Aside from a small downhill mountain biking accident on Maui (day 6 out of 9) that left Scott with a slightly fractured collar bone, some bruised ribs, and maybe a slightly bruised ego, the trip couldn’t have been more perfect!
