Matthew and Caitlin met at Trinity on the first day of preseason and immediately became friends. Although meeting for the first time at Trinity in Chicago, Matthew and Caitlin both grew up in the Grand Rapids area and participated in the same events growing up (concerts, sport events, etc.) but never actually ran into each other. At Trinity, Matthew and Caitlin would hang out in groups together, and often traveled to and from soccer games on the same bus. Eventually, on March 12, 2021, the two started dating. Since that day, many adventures have been shared, including continuing to travel for soccer, spring break, and making four trips to Florida! After graduating, we were eager to embrace adulthood and experience life beyond school. We both took jobs in the Chicago area, allowing us to stay close and begin our careers together. A little over a year later, we were ready for the next chapter. On August 30, 2024, Matt got down on one knee and proposed. Caitlin excitedly said, “You're lying!”, multiple times, and we got engaged! Now, as we step into this new chapter of life, we are thrilled to celebrate our love and commitment to each other and to God, surrounded by our favorite people! April 26, 2025 here we come!
