We’d been dating about a year and a half and had already talked about getting married when a new coronavirus put the world on lockdown. Before this, our hope was to invest in a house first, then to spend time and money on a wedding. We had dreamed about keeping our wedding small and simple, incorporating only the people and things most important to us. Then COVID-19 happened and we couldn’t see each other anymore due to quarantine guidelines. So as crises tend to do, this forced us to reevaluate our plans. We knew we wanted to be together, and so we decided not to wait. The turnaround is quick, but we are so excited! We’re getting married!! The pandemic necessitates some of the things we’d already hoped would be true of our big day. We’re keeping things small and simple: immediate family and some close friends will celebrate with us at New Life Presbyterian Church on Saturday, May 23. We plan to record our ceremony to allow people to celebrate with us from a distance who cannot be there in person. And in the future, when the world opens back up, we hope to celebrate with more people at an after-COVID wedding party as well!
