Erica and Jordan both joined match.com on the same fateful Sunday evening. They were skeptical of online dating after the horror stories they’d heard, but there seemed to be an instant connection as they chatted and texted for several days. Jordan arranged for their first date on Friday, 9/22/17 at The Anchor Bar & Grill in Wichita, and the rest is history! Jordan and Erica both canceled their match.com subscriptions and have been inseparable ever since!
Anyone who knows Erica knows how crazy she is about all things Disney! Jordan found out very quickly how important Disney was to not only Erica, but her whole family. Before meeting Jordan, Erica had planned to celebrate her 30th birthday by "drinking around the world" with friends at EPCOT in November of 2017. After dating for barely more than a month, Jordan took his first trip to Walt Disney World for this crazy celebration with an even crazier crew of visitors, and he was hooked! Jordan and Erica are now Disney Vacation Club members and quickly planned another trip to Walt Disney World in September of 2019.
September 15, 2019 was the first "park day" of thier vacation, and of course, they had to visit the classic and iconic Magic Kingdom! Kathy insisted on taking family photos (as she always does *eyeroll*), and Erica's Dad had already scoped out the perfect vantage point from the Main Street U.S.A. Train Station's upper deck. Erica complied and smiled for the pictures, all while wanting to run straight to Splash Mountain! As Erica posed for "just one more picture" of her and Jordan with Cinderella Castle in the background, Jordan dropped to his knee and pulled out a ring! Erica made a lot of high-pitched screaming noises and did a lot of jumping up and down... So the answer was, "Yes!" A WDW Cast Member found out about the engagement (probably from Erica's squealing) and presented the happy couple with celebration pins and escorted their whole party to the front of the line to meet Mickey and Minnie! That morning, Erica called and texted her closest friends and family to tell them the wonderful news. She wanted to find a moment to call her best friend, Mary, but Jordan convinced her to wait. Finally, around lunchtime, Erica insisted that she call her best friend, just in time to turn around and see that Mary had driven all the way from Savannah to surprise her! That day was truly magical, and Jordan and Erica can't wait to live happily ever after together.
