Market Square

Market Square

Knoxville, TN

There are over 75 restaurants within one square mile in Downtown Knoxville, many of which are in Market Square! Our favorites are Tupelo Honey, Nama Sushi, and Downtown Grill & Brewery. You can also find a ton of local shops!

World's Fair Park

World's Fair Park

Knoxville, TN

Visit Knoxville's iconic Sunsphere at the park where the 1982 World's Fair was hosted! You can take a *free* ride up into the sphere and view all of Knoxville & the Great Smoky Mountains!

Volunteer Landing

Volunteer Landing

Knoxville, TN

Take a stroll down to the Tennessee River at Volunteer Landing! You can see The University of Tennessee's basketball arena and football stadium, and if you're there in the afternoon, you might catch the UT Rowing Team practicing. This is where UT's iconic Vol Navy "tailgates" on their boats before football games! While you're there, grab a bite to eat at Calhoun's for some classic southern food.

Great Smoky Mountains

Great Smoky Mountains

Townsend, TN

The Great Smoky Mountains are a beautiful place to visit while in Tennessee! This is the most visited state park in the country! There are plenty of hiking and sight-seeing opportunities, but the bride's favorite is Cades Cove, a gorgeous isolated valley about an hour and a half from the venue. An 11-mile, one-way loop road lets you see the entire valley either by car or bike. Tuckaleechee Caverns is another cool place to visit!

Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge

Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge

Gatlinburg, TN

For a submersion into the Great Smoky Mountains, spend a few days in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. In Pigeon Forge, you will find many tourist attractions such as go-karts, mini-golf, and Dollywood (Dolly Parton's theme park!). You should also check out a dinner show at Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Feud! In Gatlinburg, you can take a chairlift ride up to the top of Ober Gatlinburg, ride a mountain coaster through the Smokies, or go whitewater rafting! Another must-see is North America's longest pedestrian suspension bridge, the Gatlinburg SkyBridge.

Oak Ridge National Laboratory

Oak Ridge National Laboratory

Oak Ridge, TN

Oak Ridge National Lab is about 30 minutes from the venue, and is by far one of the coolest places to visit! ORNL was created during World War II as a secret laboratory for the Manhattan Project. It became home to the world's first permanent nuclear reactor and plutonium processing plant. You can visit the American Museum of Science and Energy, and then take a bus tour of certain parts of ORNL. Today, ORNL studies a variety of topics including clean energy, nuclear fission and fusion, security, and high-performance computing. It is also home to Summit, the world's most powerful supercomputer. P.S. There are an abundance of theories suggesting Hawkins National Lab from Stranger Things is based on Oak Ridge - check it out for yourself!

Nashville

Nashville

Nashville, TN

Located a little less than 3 hours from Knoxville, Music City USA is the perfect place to spend a few days in before or after the wedding! Visit the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Parthenon (full-scale replica of the original in Athens, Greece), or the Grand Ole Opry! You can also visit the Belle Meade Plantation (one of the largest and wealthiest estates in Nashville in the 1800s where they raised some of the nation's finest thoroughbred horses), or Andrew Jackson's Hermitage if you're in the mood for historical landmarks. For some moonshine tasting, head to Ole Smoky Distillery, and for some classic Nashville Hot Chicken, head to Prince's on Nolensville Pike!
