For anyone who knows our story knows that it always involves rain.... Our story began June 23rd, 2019 the day Cody asked Abby to be his girlfriend. Cody and Abby went to the Milwaukee Zoo and the Lake Front Brewery for a tour. Once at the Brewery we were a little early so we went for a walk on the Riverwalk. Only to find ourselves caught in the pouring rain walking back to the brewery. Laughing our way back to the Brewery running from tree to tree to try to stay out of the rain. After 2 years of dating, adopting a dog together, both going back to college and graduating, career changes, and battling a pandemic Cody and Abby got engaged. June 26th, 2021 just 3 days after our 2 year anniversary, Cody brought Abby to Chicago for what she thought was to celebrate their 2 year anniversary and her graduation from Medical Assistant school. While in Chicago Cody had a whole weekend planned starting with some shopping and then an architecture waterfront tour on the river. While shopping Cody and Abby got caught in not only rain but a flood warning and tornado watch. Thankfully the rain had let up so we were able to go on the river tour only to get caught in the pouring rain again. After going back to the hotel to freshen up, Cody took Abby to a nice Chicago deep-dish pizza dinner. After dinner Cody took Abby to the Buckingham fountain. Since it was dark out the Buckingham fountain was lit up in multicolored lights. After spending sometime walking around and talking about their relationship and time together Cody proposed to Abby right in front of the fountain.
