Stone soup is in reference to an old folk tale - retold here: "https://youtu.be/BZf60cb3Th8?si=Seor59cbjGQHNLZv" In summation, we feel that a wedding is made special by the community it brings together. We hope you will celebrate with us in the spirit of the stone soup by enjoying yourself and forging new connections with all our other friends and family. Also we will have a giant cauldron of soup.
Our wonderful friend Jasper made the "Stone Soup" image we used in the Save the Date and hand printed your Invitations. Please check out more of their work at https://www.saltedsnailstudio.com
You should book your room as early as possible! The wedding is right next door to Acadia national park, which had almost four million visitors in 2023 so hotel rooms fill up quick.
There are airports in Trenton/Bar-Harbor (20min), Bangor (50min), and Portland (180min). There is a budget friendly direct bus from Boston to Bangor. There is not likely to be any Uber/Lyft availability in the area, so we recommend car-pooling or renting. If you need more information about travel options, or would like help coordinating, reach out to Camille or Alex via text or email.
Semi-formal attire appropriate for the setting/weather. The wedding will take place on our property where there are many tripping hazards such as tree roots, chicken holes, rocks, etc. We recommend wearing something you are comfortable walking around in that can protect you from ticks. If you are interested in open toed shoes, we recommend spraying yourself down with tick repellent prior to the event. It might get cool in the evening - so don't forget to pack a shawl or even a change of clothes! We will also provide some Maine-friendly examples of wedding attire in our Gallery for your reference.
Maine is fickle! For folks new to Maine we recommend you pack items you can layer, rain gear, and even some fleece jackets. Temperatures can range from 95 degrees to 50 degrees during June. We will be providing example outfits in the Gallery section of the website for your reference.
We are working to make campground areas available for a small amount of attendees. If you are interested in camping please let Camille & Alex know via email or text!
Campers will have access to port-a-potties, hand washing stations, fire pits, water stations, and any bug spray or sunscreen we have on hand. Food will be provided during the reception but campers will be responsible for their own meals the remainder of the time. Please bring your own tent, sleeping bag, comfort items, etc.
Yes, we do, and it is linked on this website. HOWEVER: more than anything listed, we always appreciate art or other hand-crafted gifts made by the people we love (you).
Alex and I have a long driveway leading to the house which we will ask you to park on the side of. With an anticipated guest list of 200, we encourage car-pooling.
