They worked on the same telemetry unit as nurses. They started talking when they had the same patient for multiple days in a row. Lauren had asked for Mike’s phone number to talk about this patient that they had both grown close to. They started chatting here and there, then started texting and calling almost everyday. They spent more and more time together until Mike FINALLY asked Lauren to be his girlfriend in October.

In typical Mike and Lauren fashion, their first date was at the beach. Mike had asked Lauren to meet him at Jones Beach for a day in the sun. They spent the entire day together hanging out, playing bocce ball, and even dancing to music as the sun set. Mike and Lauren had multiple dates during the summer, and the rest is history.

While on vacation to the Bahamas Mike popped the question! They were doing a couples photoshoot starting in the gardens, and ending on the beach. While taking photos Mike had snuck behind Lauren and was waiting on one knee for her to turn around. She turned, and instantly dropped in shock! He surprised her (even though she had a feeling it might happen). She obviously said yes and Mike even almost shed a tear.
