Things To Do

Shopping in Downtown Northampton

Main Street, Northampton, MA 01060

There are so many great local shops on Main Street. Thornes Marketplace is a larger indoor shopping area filled with treasures - there is even an old film photo booth on the second floor! Just around the corner is Raven Used Books, a personal favorite of Bera's. If you want to hunt for your favorite album on vinyl, check out Turn It Up. Interested in finding your next favorite vintage coat or home decor item? Check out one of Lekzi's favorite shops, The Collector Galleries.

The Botanic Garden of Smith College

16 College Lane, Northampton, MA 01063

A small but mighty botanical garden on the beautiful Smith College campus (where Bera's Oma went to college), that you can visit for free or pay a small suggested donation. If you like plants and historic greenhouse architecture, be sure to visit.

Osaka

7 Old S Street, Northampton, MA 01060

A great local Japanese restaurant. We love going there for sushi or hibachi.

Local Burger

16 Main Street, Northampton, MA 01060

A great local burger spot that is beloved in Northampton. They usually have fun specials too, so don't forget to ask when you go.

Familiars Coffee and Tea

6 Strong Ave, Northampton, MA 01060

A delicious stop for baked goods, small bites, and amazing coffee situated in a historic lunch car.

The Majestic Saloon

24 Main Street, Northampton, MA 01060

Want a place to grab a drink and have a little fun? The Majestic is a local queer friendly bar that has a fun event planned almost every night - ranging from karaoke and themed music nights, to performances by local drag artists. If you decide to go, I am sure Lekzi in particular would love to tag along.

Norwottuck Rail Trail

446 Damon Road, Northampton, MA 01060

Looking for an outdoor activity? The Rail Trail is a great walking and bike path that will take you over the Connecticut River.

The Montague Bookmill

440 Greenfield Road, Montague, MA 01351

Have a little down time and access to a car? The Bookmill is worth the 30 minute drive. It is now a used bookstore, but was built as a gritsmill in 1842 on the banks of the Sawmill River. They also have a cafe and restaurant overlooking the water if you work up an appetite shopping for books.
