For those of you who do not know, Anthony and Amanda both attended Wayne Hills High School and were in the same graduating class but never spoke more than two words during those shared four years. To this day, Amanda is still not sure how Anthony got her number, but he swears she must have given it to him. At one point, Anthony remembers that he and Amanda were to be paired together for a history project when at the last minute the teacher changed the groups...what a bummer and a missed chance! Towards the end of high school, Anthony actually asked Amanda to prom but unfortunately she was already going with someone else and yet another missed opportunity. It was not until years later after college that fate intervened yet again and reconnected the two where they have been inseparable ever since.
After getting Mr. Beodeker to agree to allow Anthony to marry Amanda, Anthony had to come up with the perfect proposal idea. He worked his brain to come up with something and eventually the perfect plan came to him in the form of proposing at the Wildwood Boardwalk! He chose this classy destination because he remembers Amanda had told him once before that when she went there as a child, she would always get two things from the boardwalk: 1. a book from the book store, 2. a little piece of jewelry. Anthony was going to recreate this moment on the boardwalk. The ring box would be shaped like a book, and the engagement ring would be inside. The perfect plan... The ring was created, the ring box was bought, and the proposal date was chosen. Anthony had gifted Amanda a trip to Cape May as a Valentine's Day gift, so his hand was not tipped as to what special event would be happening that weekend in April. He had invited friends and family to join in the festivities and to be gathered at the Cape May Brewery for after he dropped down on one knee. The day had finally come and it wasn't without its problems. Anthony was running a fever, but the adrenaline and nerves from what he was about to do was enough to keep him going. Additionally, the weather was not cooperating that morning as it was forecasted to be rainy all day. Luckily, these two hurdles would not impede the big moment from going down. Once Anthony and Amanda got on the Wildwood Boardwalk, Anthony almost immediately dropped down on one knee after saying a few loving words. Amanda said "yes" and the rest is history!
