Portland, OR -- Portland International Airport (PDX)

Husum, WA is only about 1 hour and 15 minutes from PDX. Even though the venue is in WA, the closest airport is in Portland, OR.

House Or Rental

Husum Highlands Bed & Breakfast

Can be fairly easily found via GPS. If coming from Portland Airport, take the I-205 to the I-84 on the Oregon side. Cross at the Hood River toll bridge and take highway 14 from there. We rented the bed & breakfast (which is our wedding venue) for the weekend. There is enough room for 10 guests total. We are reserving the rooms for the wedding party. The bed & breakfast is about 10 minutes outside of the town of White Salmon, which has several other places to stay. There is a well-maintained gravel road for about a mile going up to the bed & breakfast (lots of signs are posted along the way).

Train

Amtrak

There is an amtrak station at PDX which can be taken to Wishram, WA, our current home. We can have cars available for transport to the wedding venue site. The train only arrives once in Wishram per day around 7pm so will need to be taken the day prior. Leaves Wishram at 7AM usually (not completely reliable).

BOOK IN ADVANCE!! The Columbia River Gorge is a busy place in the summer and prices do jump. There are several nice hotels/Inns/motels in White Salmon, WA -- Hood River, OR -- The Dalles, OR. The Dalles, OR tends to be cheaper and may not book up quite as fast. We might be able to provide some housing with friends and family.
