Our Favorite Areas In & Around Seattle
Woodinville - wine tasting & food area near Kirkland. Our favorite winery is Chateau Ste. Michelle Ballard, Fremont - great neighborhoods on the west side of Lake Washington. Some of our favorite restaurants are The Walrus & The Carpenter, Made in House, & Nectar Lounge (live music!) Discovery Park - beautiful & sprawling park with views of the Olympics (on a clear day) Pioneer Square & Pike Place - the classic Seattle experience! Bainbridge Island - you can take a scenic ferry from Pioneer Square to the island. We love downtown Bainbridge & the botanical gardens
Outdoor Adventures
There are several hikes off of Highway 2 that are not far from Kirkland & the venue. We love the Lake Serene Trail. Be sure to stop by The Sand Bar Tavern for a post-hike beer!
National Parks
There are three national parks within 3 hours of Seattle: Olympic National Park & Peninsula - some of our favorite stops are Hama Hama Oyster Saloon, Lake Crescent & Hurricane Ridge Hike. Mt. Rainier National Park - Paradise Skyline trail North Cascades - Diablo Lake is our favorite!
