Kaitlin and Benny's story is a long one, but as Benny likes to say, he was "laying the groundwork". Even though they grew up only 20 minutes from one another outside Milwaukee, their paths first crossed in the fall of freshman year at UW Madison's very own Smith Residence Hall. They became fast friends, running into each other often throughout campus, at events on Langdon Street, and the UU bar where Kaitlin was a bartender (the Boelter boys couldn't fathom how cheap their drinks were with Kaitlin behind the bar!). Junior year of college, Kaitlin attended Benny's formal in Chicago which was when Kaitlin first met many of Benny's friends and realized they were a ball! They soon left for a semester abroad where they ran into one another in Budapest, Hungary, but their adventures were cut short after the world shut down during COVID. To Kaitlin's surprise, Benny reached out asking to take their dogs on a walk together during quarantine (and as you can imagine, Keenan was far less behaved than Telly). One walk led to four and even as Kaitlin protested to her teasing siblings that Benny was "just a friend", they quickly realized they may be a match. Senior year of college was a whirlwind for the pair and was truly the best year of their college career. Their friends blended seamlessly - spending most nights out together with themed parties, late nights on Mendota, and dance offs on rooftops. Kaitlin and her roommates were regulars at the 625 house parties! As senior year came to a close, they knew their journey together was just the beginning. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the two made their way to Chicago where they fell further in love in the heart of Lincoln Park. Their routine quickly changed from the college lifestyle to daily walks along the lake, date nights in the city, and building their roots in the windy city & cementing this pair was meant to be forever. A windy city it was as Benny proposed near Navy Pier on September 28th, 2024 taking Kaitlin completely by surprise. The surprises only continued as she walked into an engagement party with friends and family from across the country that came to celebrate them. It was truly the best day of their lives! Chicago has become home and there felt like no better place to tie the knot. They moved into their first apartment together August 15th, 2025 and will say "I do" with all of you one year later on August 15th, 2026!
