This is just down the road from the hotel! It's a beautiful state park to explore that has a very nicely maintained example of mission style architecture once owned by many interesting folks. You can find many hikes here that range from a stroll along a paved road, to dirt roads, to trails.
You'll recognize the main trail and the creek from the save the date you received! This state park is also just down the road from the hotel and features a lovely creek and rock pool. There's also a longer hike that takes you to the site where the show M*A*S*H was filmed. Most of the area is easy to walk in normal shoes.
This is where we went on our first date! Not a technical hike, but it's straight up for a couple of miles. Not long, and great in the morning.
Very affordable 24-hour spa in KoreaTown. Saunas, steam-rooms, hot tubs, cold plunges - you name it, they've got it! You can also book a massage, body scrub, facial, or mani/pedi. Treat yourself, you're worth it.
A nice place to eat and shop near the hotel.
Great place to go hiking!
The best driving road around with a great view at the top. You've got to go!
What's left of an old cowboy town in the mountains. Great little wine shop and a gluttonous restaurant. Popular hang out for cool cars and bikes.
Winery area in the mountains; nice place!
Art museum in a great museum district in the city!
Los Angeles! Cars! This is the museum about cars in Los Angeles! "Gorgeous sculptures, the lot of them" - Phil K.
The only one of its kind! Phil's top recommended museum in Los Angeles. A place of prehistoric wonders to show what the area used to look like and who used to live (prowl) here.
Museum of the Silver Screen!
The place to go in Hollywood to see the Walk of Fame. In all honesty, this not our favorite place (pretty grimy). But! If you really want to see HOLLYWOOD, this is it.
Best outdoor music venue around! Catch a show if you plan on staying around. Leon Bridges is playing June 5th. Opening night at the Bowl is June 7th, which will feature the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra (tickets go on sale May 6th). This is considered a picnic venue, so you can bring all your own food and drink (including alcohol). Parking is rough, but there is an expansive shuttle system (search for "Park & Ride and Bowl Shuttle" on Google) that you can use to get from the San Fernando Valley to the venue. You can also see the Hollywood sign from your seats!
The prettiest botanical garden in Los Angeles. This is a TOP recommendation. Food is not allowed, but there are plenty of cafes around the gardens. We recommend buying tickets online prior to the date you plan to visit.
A beautiful garden full of native plants!
Los Angeles has the largest Koreatown outside of Korea! There are amazing restaurants everywhere in this area, but we will update this list with specifics if need be.
We live here! Plenty of great restaurants with authentic Japanese foods. We recommend this area if you are in the mood for tasty noodles; specifically ramen. Not many sushi spots here, so reach out to us for specific sushi recommendations.
Like in the movies! Like in the video game GTA V! It's a great tourist attraction. Classic pier with rides and funnel cakes and carnival games! We recommend you walk around the area too, especially along "The Strand," which is a walking and biking path in the sand below.
Kooky place, but they're *our* kooks! You've seen it in the movies and it's a neat place to visit!
Old town Santa Monica and very charming. Between the Venice Boardwalk and the Pier so you can make a whole day out of being by the beach. Heck! Go to the beach too! It's popular!
What a view! That's right, you can see the city, the stars (people's houses on the hillside), and the stars (space)!
A beautiful piece of Los Angeles architecture history!
Any location works; just google the one closest to you! Authentic Los Angeles Mexican street food. The best you'll have. Just be aware, the spicy is SPICY...but oh so good!
If you like Beverly Hills stuff and Rodeo Dr., then check out this hotel rooftop martini bar. Don't be intimidated by the bougie people, they keep to themselves and all our money is the same color green.
"Here, you can see what winners look like!" - Phil "Wrigley Field is still better (; Go Cubbies!" - Emily
"It's called Staples Center" - Phil K. Lakers, Kings hockey, and concerts! The area encompassing it has a lot of great entertainment, but the rest of downtown is not as good as Chicago or New York. If we're being honest, you can skip the rest of Downtown Los Angeles.
If you'd like to take a day trip, we strongly recommend Santa Barbara! It's a really pretty beach town north of Los Angeles. State Street is their main street; great place to walk around. Go! It's exactly what you're looking for!
The Mission Period was an important part of California history! This one is pretty and a great place to learn about it!
If you're not wanting to drive as far as Santa Barbara, this is a great, closer beach town to visit!
Another pretty beach town!
