We're Getting Married!

We met working together at Anchor Bar & Grill in Orange Beach, Alabama. Anchor is the kind of restaurant where the moment you slip into that navy blue t-shirt you're not just 'a member of the team' but rather a member of the family. When I first started serving at Anchor, Zack was given the gruesome task of training me. My first thought was "wow he's really loud". My second thought was "he's kind of mean" when he picked on me for asking a stupid question (I thought there was no such thing as a stupid question?!). But soon enough our dynamic transitioned from trainer/trainee to two people who always had each others back no matter how deep in the weeds we were. Before we knew it, our days consisted of 12 hour work shifts that ended in a competitive game of Mario Kart. Then one day during that mid afternoon lull at work, Zack looked at me out of nowhere and said "Madison, I've got the biggest crush on you. You've got to let me take you on a date sometime". I felt my face get red and stomach fill with butterflies in an instant as I nervously laughed and said "okay." But if you know me well at all, then you know I have the tendency to overthink things. So overthought I did which led to me turning down the date a few days later in fear of jeopardizing our friendship. But lucky for me, Zack refused to take no for an answer. And the rest is history...
