Unbeknownst to both Michael and Bennette they had been working in Medora next to eachother since 2016. Bennette working at the Tourist information center, and Michael working for Billings county doing Fire and EMS. On the night of Michael’s brother’s wedding June 21st, 2019, one of the pair decided to quick add eachother on snapchat. They still argue to this day whether it was Bennette or Michael who added first. They became the best of friends right away. Bonding over how horrible it is to work in the tourist season. Staying up all night on facetime, snapping all day long. Bennette knew she would end up with Michael. Michael on the other hand was on his way to college and swore it wasn’t the time to be in a relationship. It only took 7 months of them talking day in and day out for Michael to change his tune. Michael would drive two and a half hours just to spend time with Bennette at a basketball game. On countless occasion I might add. He would soon be asking Bennette, “When will you be my girlfriend?” They decided to make it official on March 3rd of 2020 on Bennette’s birthday. Shortly after Bennette’s high school graduation they moved in together and would attend Bismarck State college together. February 14th, 2022 their german shedder Dume Bridger was born just a few miles from Bennette’s family farm. They picked him out days later and started searching for an apartment for the end of college. May of 2022 they moved into their first apartment in Dickinson. Neither of them loved the small town living after being in Bismarck. They moved once more to their beautiful townhome in Bismarck on Michaels birthday in 2022. They have lived there happily ever since. Michael a storm chasing fanatic got the idea to propose in front of a tornado in Mound City, SD back in 2024. He spent the whole entire summer of 2025 trying to get the two of them on a chase together. The odds weren’t looking good as Bennette was working a lot, and often not wanting to chase when the opportunity was present. Michael didn’t want to push the issue and ruin the surprise so he waited patiently. Until it all lined up on August 21st, 2025. The most beautiful tornado went down and there was not a soul in sight. Besides the happy couple! They are now off to the races with wedding planning. They look forward to seeing all of your lovely faces at this monumental moment.
