Bennett and Riley, who were both students at Baylor University, crossed paths briefly in the Goebel Interior Design building where Bennett was majoring. Riley, a sophomore at the time, was visiting some friends and ended up borrowing Bennett's jacket when he got cold that night. Sadly, they never spoke again during their time at Baylor, they both graduated and went their separate ways. Riley went on to work full-time for a Christian camp in east Texas, while Bennett stayed in Waco and worked for an interior design firm. When the pandemic hit, Riley left Pine Cove and took a job at Baylor's athletics department, which brought him back to Waco. With the help of mutual friends and a little divine intervention from Christ, they went on their first date on January 5th, 2022. It turned out that Riley had kept Bennett's jacket all those years, and was finally able to return it to her. From that moment on, their love story began. Riley proposed on May 20, 2023 in front of Armstrong Browning Library where they are getting married. Riley and Bennett want you to know that they are beyond grateful for each and every one of you. They are excited to begin this new journey together, and to have each of you join them in celebration of what God has done and will continue to do in their lives.
