The Wedding Website of Ben Mummery and Lauren MacDougall
We’ll be staying at an apartment at The Hoxton Edinburgh (which has three double rooms, each with its own bathroom) and have reserved a block of three further double rooms for parents so everyone can stay together. The apartment also has a large kitchen and living area that we will make use of for our wedding after-party!

Driving to Edinburgh

Driving from Dover to Edinburgh takes roughly 7–8 hours, depending on traffic, and is about 470 miles. A typical route is: Dover → M20 → M25 around London → M1 or A1 north → Edinburgh. It’s a long drive but a scenic one once you get further north, and you may want to break it up with a stop along the way. We’ll actually be driving up ourselves with Pepper, so you’re very welcome to make a road trip of it too if that sounds more appealing than flying. The Hoxton doesn’t have its own on‑site car park for guests, so you won’t be able to park directly at the hotel. Nearest parking options: There are several public car parks within walking distance, including a 24/7 option at Q‑Park on West Approach Road, about a 10‑minute walk away. Street parking is also available nearby, though be sure to check local parking restrictions and charges. If you’re planning to drive and park while you explore Edinburgh or stay at the Hoxton, booking a space at one of the nearby car parks in advance (e.g. via apps like JustPark) is usually the easiest way to secure a spot.
