Ben and Kate were married on August 28th, 2020 in a small ceremony with their immediate family. Now they are excited for all of their friends and family to come together in June and celebrate their love and party!

Kate and Ben were set up on a blind date by one of Kate's good friends and coworkers who just happen to be one of Ben's physical therapy patients. Kate's friend knew from the minute she met Ben that he was the perfect match for Kate! They met for their blind date on a Tuesday night at Mission restaurant in DuPont Circle and have literally been together ever since. Kate remembers that they closed down the restaurant talking until nearly midnight on the week night. Ben recalls after leaving the dinner date that he texted her immediately for a second date. A few days later they had their first dreamy kiss at Cod Mother, a dive bar on U Street, where they danced to 90's music and watched Shrek in the background. They both knew from the beginning that this was it and they had found their forever person!

Ben really wanted to surprise Kate with his proposal, but if you know Kate a surprise is much easier said than done! Ben tried for over a month to pull the wool over Kate's eyes but she kept catching on to his plans. As the weeks dragged on, the beautiful ring was burning a hole in Ben's pocket. He woke up on a Wednesday morning and thought today is the day, I'm going to propose! Ben tricked Kate by saying that they were going to have dinner on their rooftop with their neighbors and friends Mary and Darryl. Kate went about her normal routine that night, doing a quick workout before dinner. Ben called Kate on his way home from work and instructed her to go claim a grill on the rooftop. Little did she know Ben was hiding in Darryl's apartment looking out the peep hole to see her run up to the roof. Ben and Darryl ran into Ben and Kate's apartment and set up for the SURPRISE Proposal! As Kate opened the door she shrieked with total shock and started crying immediately. Ben exclaimed that she was his soulmate and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Darryl, hiding in the corner, caught the whole thing on video, even Kate's ugly cry! Ben did it, he pulled off the best surprise of Kate's life!
