Corey and Kelsy met in June of 2012 at Stevenson High School's Relay for Life. It was a combined team with Kelsy's old neighbors that attended SHS. Kelsy brought along some friends to Relay for Life and the Kaboffs brought along some of their friends, including the Stevenson Hockey Team (Shoutout to Austin Kaboff). Kelsy's first impression of Corey was that he could not stop talking during the silent lap and if you know Kelsy she is a rule follower and this annoyed her. As the night went on, Corey and Kelsy kept hanging out with everyone which eventually ended up with them playing pass with a football. Corey would only throw the football to Kelsy which again, annoyed her. The event ended early the next morning and Kelsy and her friends made plans with the Stevenson High Schools boys to come over after taking much needed naps. As fate would have it, Kelsy left to babysit right when Corey got to Barrington. Corey pursued Kelsy for the next few weeks and she kept turning him down. It wasn't until April 26, 2013 that Kelsy finally gave him the green light and they began dating. The night before, Corey called Kelsy to ask her if she wanted to go to a Taylor Swift concert the next evening in Indiana. Corey's a smart guy who knew Taylor Swift was the way to Kelsy's heart. Even though they had only known Corey for a few months, Kelsy's parents agreed to not only call her out of school the next day, but also drive them both to Indiana for the concert. At the end of the concert Corey asked Kelsy to be his girlfriend. Fast forward many years, and Corey asked Kelsy to marry him on December 11, 2021.
