Every neighborhood in San Francisco offers its own unique charm which is why we love this city! If you plan to stay in San Francisco proper, we recommend booking hotels/air bnbs in the following neighborhoods: North Beach/Fisherman's Warf, Pacific Heights, Marina, Presidio, Russian Hill, Richmond, Downtown area. If you can't find anything here, thats okay! Every neighborhood in SF is wonderful in its own way :) North Beach is our favorite! If you are not familiar with San Francisco, avoid staying in the Tenderloin or Lower Nob Hill neighborhoods. South San Francisco will offer some cheaper options, but you will be about 40 minutes driving from the wedding festivities. If you plan to stay outside of San Francisco, Sausalito and Oakland are great options. These areas are ~30 minutes driving to SF. They do both have a ferry you can use for transportation but timing can be limited in the evening.
While we love your children, we are planning an adults-only wedding weekend. We hope this advance notice helps with planning. We truly appreciate your understanding!
If you are staying in San Francisco, a car is not needed! The city is very walkable, there are many public transit options, and uber is readily available. If you do rent a car, please do not leave ANYTHING of value inside unattended. Car break-ins do happen here! It has happened to us and it will happen to you!
