I met Tara through our Young Adult Catholic Group called Quo Vadis. Quo Vadis was hosting a day of fun at a local park where we played all sorts of outdoors games, including one of our favorites, volleyball. After showing how dominating I can be on the volleyball court (while having a bummed up leg), I could not help but notice this cute looking blonde girl sitting by herself looking at her phone. With my bubbly and random personality I decided to go over and say hi. I find out her name and where she is from (first steps in meeting any new person). After a bit talking back and forth I challenge her to a game of corn hole. Lo and behold I found out real quick that wasn't the best idea. Let's just say I would like to say I let her win, but in reality she kicked my butt..period. Still stunned by this I told her at somepoint I would love to go salsa dancing with her and could give her my number, she did not get it right them and there. Eventually, she headed over to the playground to hang with a couple of friends and I just so happened to follow them over there. I know, I know typically that would be creepy that a dude just randomly follows a girl like that, but all I can say is I am glad I took that chance! It allowed me to talk to her more and find more about her. By the end of the night everyone was going to baseball field to play kickball. I was kicking myself inside that I did not get her number. However, as she was running to go to her car, she turns back towards me and says, "oh here is my number so that we can go dancing sometime". That moment was the beginning of something beautiful that God was preparing us for in the future. A few days later, after talking with some great friends from Quo Vadis, I got the courage to ask her if I could give her a ride to a barn dance that was going on. I was expecting her to say no or she was riding with someone else, but that was not the case. She said yes and lets just say that the story continues on to this day. God Bless!
