Wellfleet Bay provides peace and unmatched beauty on the hillsides and shoreline overlooking Wellfleet Harbor. Extensive trails bring you to a panoramic salt marsh, sandy barrier beach, and pine woodlands, each attracting a wide array of wildlife. The sanctuary features a universally accessible trail and an award-winning “green” nature center with numerous exhibits and aquariums.
Biking is one of the best ways to see Cape Cod. This is one rental shop located in Wellfleet, but there are many more! We encourage you to find the on that most closely fits your needs. Bikes feature lightweight aluminum frames, Memory Foam comfort seats, and 7 speed and 21 speed gearing. Every rental includes a FREE Helmet, Bike Lock, And trail map. Bikes may be rented by the hour, day, or for a full week.
An historic footbridge, and only a five minute walk from the wedding site, Uncle Tim’s Bridge dates back to 1783 when it was called the "new bridge." It spans Duck Creek, connecting Cannon Hill or Hamblen Island to the central village of Wellfleet. In the 1800s Timothy E. Daniels, affectionately known as Uncle Tim, had a shop, located directly across from the bridge which bears his name to this day.
Provincetown is at the northern tip of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The seaside town is on the site of the Mayflower’s landing in 1620, commemorated by the towering Pilgrim Monument and neighboring Provincetown Museum. P-town is known as a longtime haven for artists, lesbians and gay men. Numerous galleries plus restaurants, nightclubs, cabarets and specialty shops are clustered on and around lively Commercial Street.
This trail follows sandy stretches between the elevated heights of Great Island and Great Beach Hill. Its higher elevations punctuate spectacular vistas which emerge from an even-aged, pitch-pine forest. Part of this trail leads to a colonial-era tavern site (no remains visible). Other sections skirt salt marsh embayments. A picnic area is adjacent to parking area.
