How We Met

Benjamin and Shanelle's love for the Lord led them individually to The Sanctuary of Seminole, each at different seasons in their lives. As time progressed, the Lord began to speak with both of them separately about marriage and preparation. Ultimately, their sensitivity to the voice of God led them to each other. With much prayer and humility, both of them spoke with their pastor, seeking guidance and wisdom for their relationship. They were aware of the process that they were about to embark on with one another. Together they committed to follow the will of God knowing that it would lead to a beautiful marriage. At the start, Benjamin and Shanelle’s friendship blossomed and their bond grew. With guidance and prayer, they wanted to be sure that this was the will of God for their lives. Jesus continued to deal with them, preparing their hearts to be open to marriage. With the help of Jesus and direction from the man of God in their lives, Pastor Ken Cook, they established a strong relationship. As they submitted themselves to their Pastor and the work of God in Seminole, God drew them closer together. Their friendship was founded on purity, faith, boundaries, honesty, and trust. Above all, it was built upon God's word, continuing to pour into the lives of others and serve in ministry. With continued prayer and dedication, their love for one another grew and blossomed into a pure relationship; one in which they both knew that it was destined for them to be together. Moreover, God’s plan was being formed in their lives and He put HIS stamp of approval on it.
