This is where Patrick Henry gave his famous "Give me liberty or give me death!" speech. A lot of historic figures in the graveyard, including the mother of Edgar Allen Poe, Elizabeth Poe.

A 19th-century estate with lovely gardens & wildlife center. The Italian & Japanese gardens are particularly beautiful. Saturday they are hosting an Herbs Galore event with live music and lots of herbs!
Island park on the James River known for its walking trails, rocky shoreline & swimming areas. The parking lot can fill up on a busy weekend so we recommend going early or parking on 2nd street.
Richmond has centuries of architecture - we recommend strolling around The Fan and Church Hill neighborhoods to take some of it in :)
