We’re Olivia and Benjamin. Looking back, it’s clear God had a hand in orchestrating every little twist that brought us together. On Olivia’s birthday, when her original plans fell through, a mutual friend invited her to come out with their group of friends so she wouldn’t be alone. True to form, Benjamin struck up a conversation before anyone else even had the chance, offering her a Bud Light (which, fun fact, Olivia does not drink beer) and asking if she played pool... which, if you know anything about Olivia, you know she has zero hand-eye coordination. When she admitted she didn’t, he laughed and asked, “Okay… so no beer, no pool, what are you into then?” That’s how the conversation really took off. They bonded over music, jokes, and silly challenges. Like when Olivia dominated him at the pinball machine, laughing at his ridiculous attempts while he pretended he wasn’t impressed. It was one of those moments that made it clear we could have fun together forever. We didn’t fall in love that night (we’re not that predictable), but there was a spark, curiosity, laughter, and that unmistakable feeling that something unexpected was just beginning. A few months later, by what could only be called divine coincidence, (or starting a business prematurely ). Olivia got roped into Benjamin’s business around Halloween. They needed someone to pull the events together, add some direction, and basically make it all make sense. Enter Olivia: organized, slightly bossy (but in a lovable, “I got this” way), and full of creative energy. Working side by side planning, problem-solving, and sharing music playlists. It became obvious we were a surprisingly good team. Hanging out became inevitable, laughter became constant, and friendship slowly, naturally, blossomed into something deeper. We officially became a couple on New Year’s Eve. A night already full of magic, but Benjamin knew it was real even before that. How do we know? He let Olivia cut his long, hideously overgrown surfer hair. It was equal parts trust, bravery, and probably mild insanity, and it remains one of our favorite stories to tell. Exactly one year later, Benjamin proposed at home: our safe, happy, goofy little world where we’re most ourselves. Saying “yes” was the start of our next adventure: welcoming our beautiful baby girl, who made our family alittle fuller. With a lot of love, laughter, and just the right amount of chaos. Now, we’re carrying our New Year’s Eve tradition into our wedding , a night full of music, dancing, laughter, champagne (probably too much), and every single person who makes life richer and more fun. We can’t wait to celebrate, toast, and ring in forever together and maybe, just maybe, cut a little more hair along the way.
