We’re getting hitched!

We met during medical school during our ER rotation. Ben had flown out from Chicago for an audition, and we happened to end up in the same place at the same time. We hit it off right away, but he had to go back to Chicago to complete medical school. With a little serendipity, he matched into a SoCal residency nearby a few months later, and we reconnected! We quickly discovered how much we had in common with our love of the outdoors and adventuring, as well as pushing ourselves to learn and grow. While we are amazingly compatible, we love to challenge each other to be the best we can be.

Ben had it planned out for months and was meant to be perfect - and it was, just not how we expected! Ben had everything ready to go, but the weather had different plans. Long story short, we went to Rise festival after dating for a few months and it was so amazing and romantic that Ben thought it would be perfect to propose at the next Rise we went to. He had everything planned to the minute and even had Gabi and Mike with liltte Ronan there to capture the moment. Unfortunately just a minutes before the lanterns were to be released, the event got cancelled due to lightning! We had to sneak out our lanterns to create a Rise festival of our own... At the time, we wanted to make sure Gabi and Mike got to see the lanterns in their full glory. We drove off into the desert and got one lit despite the roaring winds and just before we released it, Ben stopped me. I turned around and he was on his knee... the rest is history. We were able to release our lanterns! If it didn’t go so wrong, I’d say it went perfectly. We think it’s an omen for our marriage, that no matter what may go wrong, we will find a way to make it work. Thanks again to Mike and Gabi for helping to make it all come together!
