What time should I arrive?

Answer

Our ceremony will begin promptly at 2:00 p.m. Please arrive no later than 1:45 p.m. You are more than welcome to arrive earlier to allow for plenty of time to get parked and seated!

What is the dress code?

We would love to see everyone get dressed up with us! We are requesting formal attire.

Where should I park?

Answer

Ceremony | St. Ambrose Cathedral: Free parking is available in any of the lots surrounding the cathedral. Pay to park is available on High Street, 7th Street and 6th Ave. Reception | The Tea Room: The 9th & Locust Parking Ramp and the 8th & Mulberry Parking Ramp are both a 3 minute walk to The Tea Room. You can also park at any available street parking. For the 9th & Locust Parking Ramp, vehicle entrance and exit are on the south side of the garage on Locust Street. The SE corner of the garage links to the skywalk and provides the most direct route to The Tea Room (both on skywalk & street level). For the 8th & Mulberry Parking Ramp, vehicle entrance and exit are on the NW corner of the garage on Mulberry Street. (The east half of the parking structure is EMC Insurance's private parking.) Pedestrian entrance and exit are on the south side of the building on Cherry Street.

How do I enter The Tea Room?

Answer

The main entrance to the Wilkins building is located on 8th Street, halfway between Walnut Street & Locust Street. Look for the sign outside the entrance door to direct you up to the 6th floor. You can also enter via the skywalk entrance from the Des Moines Partnership Building on the 2nd floor and follow the skywalk directions to the Wilkins/Tea Room entrance and take the elevator to the 6th floor.

Are kids welcome?

While we love kids, we’ve decided to have an adults-only celebration with the exception of family members. Thank you for making arrangements!
