Important Travel Information

Mendocino has become our favorite place along the California coast. It’s about 3 hours from San Francisco and 3.5 hours from Sacramento, with a stunning drive that winds along the coastline. Cell service and gas stations are limited outside of the small town, so be sure to fill up and download your map before heading up Highway 1. Most accommodations have a two-night minimum, and we truly recommend making the most of it. There is plenty to explore, from coastal hikes to quiet ocean views. If you're only able to stay one night, some hotels may offer flexibility if you call directly. May is the busiest time of the year in Mendocino, so we suggest booking early.

Little River Inn is another great option, located just 5 minutes from Heritage House along Highway 1. The McMillens have stayed here frequently since they were kids, and it’s known for its comfortable accommodations and easy access to the coast.

The town of Mendocino is just 10 minutes from the venue and offers a variety of hotels and charming B&Bs. It’s the perfect place to explore with easy access to restaurants, local shops, and beautiful coastal views.

Fort Bragg

Fort Bragg is about 30 minutes from the venue, located along a rural stretch of Highway 1. It may offer more Airbnb and accommodation options, but for convenience and safety, we do not recommend driving this route after dark.
