Silverado Trail is an easy drive from the hotel and boasts some of Napa's best wineries and vineyards on both sides! We'd recommend an Uber or Lyft (unless you have a designated driver). While Uber and Lyft exist in Napa, they are sometimes a rare so definitely leave extra time in case of a wait.
Set on the Napa River, downtown Napa hosts world class restaurants, tasting rooms, shopping, and is just overall fun to walk around! Some of our favorite places downtown: - Oenotri - great dinner elevated Italian food. They make all their pasta in house and this was one of our first dinner dates in Napa. - Oxbow Market - a food hall that has oysters, wine & charcuterie, tacos, pizza, beer, cupcakes, plus some markets. Great food but it definitely gets crowded. - Napa Valley General Store - sneaky good brunch! You can call to book a table but they also take walk ins. Don't sleep on a french toast for the table! - Morimoto - there are 2 different Morimoto restaurants downtown. The first is a true sushi restaurant and the second (Morimoto Asia) has a dim sum focus. Both are great but you need a reservation! - Helen Lyall - fantastic clothing boutique! Locally owned and they are so helpful if you want to shop.
We've done this hike and it's so beautiful! It's about a 45-60 minute drive from Silverado and takes about 2 hours to complete, so we'd recommend leaving 4-5 hours to complete. It's a beautiful drive up Silverado Trail going through the vineyards and wineries of Napa! Definitely wear sunscreen and bring water - it can get really hot when you're in the sun, so we'd recommend going earlier in the day.
If you're staying at Silverado, you'll have access to a couple of pools. Every condo has a it's own community pool, and then the main pool is located right by the Mansion (to the right past the tennis courts if you're facing the Mansion). The main pool has food and drinks available with 2 pools and a hot tub.
The Napa Valley Farmers Market is only on Saturdays from 8 am until noon, but has some amazing fresh produce as well as some prepared foods. Our favorite is the everything bagel from Toasted with spicy veggie cream cheese!
This is one of Katie's favorite restaurants in the world. The love started as a child when Bistro showed their culinary prowess by offering "Pizza Per Bambini" (cheese pizza....no green stuff) but they also have the best caesar salad you'll ever eat, and amazingly fresh pastas. If you like to eat things other than caesar salad and pasta (who would though?) Ben would tell you their pork chop, veal parm, any fish, really anything else is also order worthy.
Ride your bike past vineyards and wineries, and enjoy easy access to restaurants and shops. The Napa Valley Vine Trail currently connects the town of Yountville to the south end of Napa with a 12.5 mile walking & biking trail. You can rent bikes directly from Silverado Resort if you are staying there, or there are a number of other bike companies in the area.
