Ben and I originally were going to have the entire day together as I took off work. However, I had to continue to push back our meeting time because of a few meetings I ended up having to attend. Ben, however, did not let this shake him and just was going along with it. So finally, at 2:30 I went to meet Ben at his house. He was dressed up, making me a little curious, but not overthinking anything. It was raining, but he still wanted to go to our favorite place on a dock by the water where we had gone to many time to fish, read and enjoy time together. On the way there he began playing a song that he had repeatedly played when we first began dating because he was nervous I wouldn't like his music taste. Once I realized the song was playing we laughed about it and reminisced about the beginning of our relationship. When we arrived at our spot, Ben gave me a card saying it was for our one and a half year anniversary that had been that week, I read the elaborate card, then when I finished and turned around he was on one knee and asked me to marry him!!! I hugged him a ton, to the point where he said, "wait, you should at least look at the ring." It was perfect! Afterward we went to our favorite restaurant on the river while we called our families to celebrate with them. Then we got to tell our friends in person at a conference at our church that evening. That day was simply full of joy!!!
