We suggest semi-formal attire. Guests may wear dresses, suits, or cocktail attire. During the wedding ceremony, we do ask guests to dress modestly and respectfully, honoring the sacred environment of the Cathedral.
Absolutely! Children are welcomed to join in the celebration! Please let us know in advance with your RSVP so we can ensure they are accommodated.
There will be a 30-passenger shuttle providing transport from the Marriott Hotel to the ceremony, from the ceremony to the reception, and back to the Marriott at the end of the night. This is primarily to accommodate out of town guests, but anyone needing a ride may hop on if there is room! Otherwise, Uber and Lyft are readily available in the area.
Yes, please let us know of any dietary restrictions or preferences, and we will do our best to accommodate them for the reception! We're serving BBQ, but will have a vegetarian option available - just request when you RSVP.
The Eastern Orthodox wedding ceremony is an ancient rite full of profound symbolism and meaning. It consists of several rituals such as blessing of the rings, drinking from the common cup, and crowning of the bride and groom. Don't worry if it's totally unfamiliar to you - we will provide a pamphlet which explains the meaning behind everything taking place. All you need to do is show up and be present!
Unlike Western churches, Orthodox churches traditionally do not have pews - parishioners follow the more ancient tradition of standing throughout services. Seating at the Cathedral is limited, so we kindly ask guests to stand if able and reserve seating for elderly attendees and those unable to stand.
Your presence is the greatest gift, and for those who wish to contribute, we've set up a cash registry. Monetary gifts are greatly appreciated and will help us start our new journey together.
