Tinder swipes led to Temptations Cafe in Brookline, Massachusetts. She thought he looked better than his pictures; he thought she was going to be taller.

Ben and Iris go dancing at the salsa clubs, look at some old coins at the Museum of Fine Arts, and discover the many forms of pancakes.

Ben went to New Mexico, and Iris embarked on a new career in New York. FaceTime calls abound.

Ben got a job in the city and was able to relocate from the desert to the concrete jungle. Together at last!

Iris gets a new place! Ben moves heavy furniture down from the 5th floor (in a building without an elevator) to the moving van. Ben refuses to do that again.

Iris and Ben felt like they had too much free time on their hands, so they get Oliver--a small, fluffy, pain in the butt. He grows up to be a large, fluffy, pain in the butt.

Ben leaves for the place where fun allegedly goes to die in the windy city of Chicago. Fur baby joins. Two years later he has an M.A. and an adult dog--when did that happen?!

Ben & Ollie relocate back to Brooklyn where Iris has been holding down the fort. They buy craft beer from the local to-go beer counter, go to art exhibitions, drink overpriced coffee, and shop at the farmer's market. Iris takes a print-making class. Ben rides a single-speed bicycle. Are we doing this right?

Ben takes Iris to dinner in the Brooklyn neighborhood of DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) on what seemed like a normal Tuesday night. After dinner, they walk along the waterfront of Brooklyn Bridge Park. He offers to take a picture of her looking at Manhattan's skyline (editor's note: this should have been the tip-off that something was afoot). When she turns around, he's gotten down on one knee.

A happy couple, one photographer, and an officiant walk into Central Park...

Iris will be "pahking her cah in Harvahd Yahd" in the Fall. Ben will be spending more time in the library than she does, guaranteed. Ollie will be conducting a post-doctoral fellowship on campus, continuing his groundbreaking research on the mouthfeel of gum, assorted refuse, and the running patterns of squirrels.
