A truly peaceful float over Torrey Pines, with views of dolphins and surfers in the ocean - so calm you could sip tea mid-flight. You’ll fly tandem with a certified instructor, and each person covers their own flight. If you’d like to join just to watch, soak up the sunshine, or hike at Gliderport, you’re more than welcome. There’s also a café and plenty of seating for relaxing. https://www.flytorrey.com/tandem-flights/

Love the ocean? Try open-water swimming alongside sea lions and dolphins, snorkeling, scuba diving, or surfing. Stroll The Coastal Walk, relax at Ellen Browning Scripps Park (Atlas’s old stomping grounds), and check out 1024 Coast Blvd South—the very first place we called home after moving from Chicago.
Perfect for easygoing surfing and spotting dolphins along the shore.
Hannah’s Favorite Ultra Training Trail Besides Anza-Borrego/Cuyamaca Desert, this Hannah's go-to for hill training. This trail offers a challenging route with steep climbs and minimal shade—perfect for experienced hikers or trail runners. Bring plenty of water for both during your adventure and post-adventure. If you plan to explore around dawn or dusk, borrow a bike bell at the trailhead to safely alert wildlife of your presence. RWGF+49 San Diego, California
The best season for tide pooling is late fall through winter. Year-round, Cabrillo National Monument offers sweeping views of San Diego and makes a perfect bike ride turnaround—or a fun starting point for road runs along the San Diego Half Marathon course (hello, mostly downhill miles).
Our go-to tacos in SD. Open until 11pm for late-night cravings, plus Atlas gets an extra walk. Truly a win-win.
A favorite stop for Hannah’s bike crew—this is a two-stop must. Start at Pop Pie for their roasted veggies and yellow curry pie, plus the kale salad. Then go next door to Stella Jean’s for their creative seasonal ice cream flavors. The brown butter pecan and baklava cheesecake alone might be worth the plane ticket to CA.
