Benji and I met in 2023 on a dating app called Upward shortly after I moved up to North Idaho. Though this is not how we pictured meeting our spouse, it surely is beautiful how God weaved it in such a special way. Both Benji and I grew up in the Central Valley of California, our hometowns Bakersfield(Emily) and Visalia (Benji), being only one hour apart. As we started to get to know each other, we found out that we each had multiple family members living in each other cities. I would regularly go to Visalia to visit my mom's side of the family later to came to find out lived close to Benji's family. But alas we still didn't meet. A few weeks into dating Benji and I were sharing our testimonies. We both grew up in the church, but Benji shared that he accepted Christ during a winter camp located in Hume Lake. As he shared more, I began to realize that it was the same weekend my church also attended Hume Lake's winter camp. (He swears he recognizes me from that weekend, I doubt it) I then moved to Texas in 2016 and he moved up to Spokane, WA in 2019. We took two different paths in two different directions. It wasn't until I decided to move to North Idaho in 2023 and download a dating app to meet the one and only Benji. God is funny in his timing and so creative in how he is writing our love story. I know both Benji and I are excited about the future that God has in store for us.
