Our Story

If you watched it unravel from a bird's eye view, it's the miracle of miracles that I get you 🦋

Monday, March 29, 2021 - We met at Pettibone Coffee in Dayton, Ohio where I was studying cardiology and Ben was working on a piece of art. It was the Monday before Easter, the last week of lent, during which Ben had been fasting and praying to meet his wife. Two days prior, I had taken a picture of the art piece and sent it to my sister, Elle, with the caption "I'm at my fav coffee shop and this art piece is in progress. I'm going to sit here all day till the artist comes in." Elle replied, "I like this stakeout plan. Ask if he's single." To which I responded, "I'll marry him I will." Thursday, April 1, 2021 - Ben had asked for my number the day we met, but when I hadn't heard from him after 3 days I decided to FaceTime him. We talked for 4 hours. He told me later he had only asked for my number because I'd been so interested in his art and he thought I would make a good client. It didn't cross his mind that I was not only interested in the art, but the artist. Saturday, April 3, 2021 - On the last day of lent, we went on our last first date. Sunday, June 6, 2021 - The day before I left for a 6 week medical internship in the Republic of Congo, Ben wanted me to have peace about where we stood while I was gone and asked me to be his girlfriend. He sent me off with 6 letters, one to open for each week that we were apart. Saturday, January 15, 2022 - On a date night, Ben asked me to think about if I would want to get married during my 4th year of medical school or after graduating. I smiled and asked if he was planning to get married just as friends or as something more, because at this point he had not yet told me he loved me. We laughed and together said, "I love you" for the first time—and decided we wanted to be married in 2023. Saturday, November 5, 2022 - After a year and a half of dating, we got engaged in Cincinnati and started planning the wedding of our dreams with our beautiful families and friends! Friday, May 19, 2023 - The miracle of all miracles
