Worlds shortest and steepest railroad elevator. Historical landmark in Dubuque that originally was designed to speed up former mayors commute down the bluff from a 1.5 hr horse ride. At the top of the elevator are some of the best views of downtown Dubuque.
Great views just south of Dubuque in the Mines of Spain. This is a short paved walk to view the founders monument and see more beautiful views of Dubuque. Hiking trails available from here (our favorite is horseshoe bluff)
