Weisport Canal on D&L trail for walking/biking
Great trail to bike and walk on. There’s a parking lot at the trailhead. This trail is shaded and runs along the river through Jim Thorpe and to Glen Onoko Falls. My favorite biking trail near Jim Thorpe.
No. 9 Coal Mine and Museum
Check out some history of the Coal Region in this tour of a coal mine and museum.
Lehigh Gorge State Park
Check out the beautiful state park in Jim Thorpe. Tons of activities available here. Biking on the D&L trail, rafting/kayaking, fishing, hiking. Train rides through this park.
Mauch Chunk Lake Boat Rental
Visit Mauch Chunk Lake and rent a boat. Kayaks, Paddleboats, Paddleboards, Rowboats, and Canoes. You can also take a walk or bike on my favorite trail the lower switch back. This trail follows along the old switchback railroad trail. You can catch the trail on the left of the parking lot from the boat rental place and walk down to flagstaff mountain and back. The trail follows along Mauch chunk creek and is shaded.
Jim Thorpe
Visit the Little Switzerland of Pennsylvania, Jim Thorpe! Loads of things to do and places to eat. Stroll along Broadway visiting the different shops, wineries, restaurants. Take a ride on the train or learn some history at the Mauch chunk museum and old jail museum.
Penn's Peak
Looking for a beautiful view and night of music, Penns Peak is one of the coolest venues in the area. Massive deck that gives a view of the Pocono mountains. An Eagles tribute band will be playing the Friday night before the wedding September 5.

Great winery located 20 minutes from the wedding hotel. Galen Glenn has an array of delicious wine and beautiful view of the vineyards. Their Rose is my favorite !
