Benjamin and Briley first met in 7th grade and remained best friends throughout high school. In the fall of 2019, Briley left for college to Kansas State where Benjamin joined the Army and soon left for basic. In December 2019, the first time to see each other after Briley's first semester of college and Benjamin graduated from basic training. Their "first date" was going to the movies to watch Frozen 2. Sophomore year of college for Briley and AIT in Arizona for Benjamin where weekly facetime calls were made. In December 2020, They were together for the holidays while enjoying time with family and friends. January 1, 2021, Benjamin asked Briley to be his girlfriend. Benjamin then left for Korea as Briley headed back to school. In March 2022, long awaited, they saw each other after 14 months. Benjamin then moved to Louisiana after returning to the states. They made many trips back and forth to the "meet in the middle" in Texas with his sister's family, and more road trips to Kansas and Louisiana. December 31, 2023, Benjamin asked Briley to marry him at the Top of The World in Manhattan, KS.
