Once upon a time — okay, back in 2015 — two shy teenagers named Benjamin and Brianna found themselves as the last ones awake at every summer bonfire in Waterford, Michigan. While everyone else went home, they stayed up talking about everything and nothing, sparks quietly flickering between them (and not just from the fire). One summer night, there was a kiss — short, sweet, and perfectly timed for a teen rom-com ending. But life, as it often does, had other plans. College came, years passed, and their story hit “pause.” Fast forward to the summer of 2021: Bri was back in town and decided that fate had waited long enough. With a little help from their mutual friend Amy, she sent out the message that changed everything: “Tell Ben to ask me out.” (We call that modern-day magic.) After a few amazing dates, Bri moved back to Pennsylvania — and, according to her, Ben definitely said he “doesn’t do long distance.” (Ben continues to plead the fifth.) So, once again, they went their separate ways — but this time, it felt different. In 2022, the stars finally aligned. Bri moved to Dallas, Ben followed a year later, and soon they were living their best city lives with their beloved pup, Bailey — exploring, laughing, brunching, and probably arguing over who’s the better driver (it’s Bri, obviously). Now, after 3.5 years together, they’ve come full circle — back home to Michigan, where the bonfires still burn, the nights still stretch too late, and the story that started with a spark gets its happily ever after.
