We met the summer of 2020. Everyone was still in quarantine... We were both about to start the fall semester of college at Southeastern Louisiana University. On a whim, we both downloaded the same app and we matched. We texted and facetimed during the pandemic. Eventually, we met in person. And somewhere in the midst of hiking, fishing, tennis, dance performances, Disney, school. church and family events... We fell in love!

On a beautiful Sunday afternoon in August, Ben planned a fishing trip at his grandfather's property. Ben invited his parents to go along with us and it was my idea to invite my parents as well. I knew my dad would enjoy fishing. (not knowing Ben had already talked to my parents about the plan) I also invited some friends. One of my friends suggested we do a friends photoshoot while we were there. So, we brought a picnic blanket and basket full of books, but little did I know that this was all a cover up for the planned proposal. We arrived at the property and began to set up for the picnic photoshoot. Ben told us he knew of a good spot to set up for the shoot and led me down a grassy pathway towards the lake. The next thing I knew Ben was down on one knee. My heart was pounding when he pulled a small box from his pocket... Of course I said "YES" ! You can view "the proposal" video on our Gallery tab.
