Last spring, Ben and his pal Nate were going to cook some steaks for my friend Katie and I (I thought that Ben was going to ask Katie out). Kate and I cancelled due to a bad day. Later, I was moving to downtown DSM, and my casual acquaintance Ben asked if he could help me move. I turned down the offer due to my very few possessions. Then, one day, I got a text "Hey Abbie, this is Ben Fitzgerald, I'm hosting a bonfire, want to come?" I was out of town, so I asked if he'd like to go frisbee golfing sometime. After 9 holes of easy and fun conversation, he asked if I wanted to sit on the bench and continue getting to know each other, and I have LOVED getting to know each other ever since. Ben proposed by Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis, after a day filled with snowboarding (correction: Ben was snowboarding, I was falling with a snowboard strapped to my feet). Easiest "Yes!" of my life. Ben is my Sunday kind of love. He's humble, faithful, patient, kind, thoughtful, hardworking, and I could go on and on. His steadfast faith seeps into every part of him. And he thinks I'm funny. He actually laughs at my jokes! To say I'm a lucky one is the understatement of the century!
